Light Tackle

Sightfishing for redfish, seatrout and black drum on light tackle can be as exciting as it gets. Whether you are fishing in shallow water for tailers, cruisers, laid up fish or deeper water for the giants, there is nothing more rewarding then seeing the fish you are going to catch.  Mosquito Lagoon and

the Indian River, due to the fact that the water is generally clear will offer ample opportunities to experience this type of fishing. Redfish (3-12lbs) will frequent water so shallow their backs are exposed and the giants (15-40lbs) are often seen in 3-6 feet of water finning on the surface. These fish will take live as well as artificial baits if presented properly
and the best way approach and catch these fish is moving slowly and stealthy by the use of a push-pole and NOT by run and bump tactics.
